In part eight of the series «The making of your kybun shoe» Rafael is joining the upper shoe part to the sole.
Rafael is a relative newcomer to the kybun production line. He learned his trade in Portugal over several years and is now putting his valuable experience to good use at kybun. In the video, he shows us how he applies the water-soluble adhesive by hand and with accuracy. He repeats this process a total of four times. Then the sole is pressed onto the upper shoe by a special machine and permanently bonded together.
Take a look behind the scenes and experience how the Swiss air-cushion shoe is made by hand in approximately 40 steps.
