I can’t imagine giving a concert on the kybun mat. You have to of course imagine when you hold the violin up here, the movements that you make result in a certain discomfort. Either for the intonation in your left hand because you only have to shift your finger a tiny bit for it to not be so precise anymore. And also with the slurs during a staccato piece, it naturally creates a certain degree of discomfort. This is at the expense of how precisely you play. But I actually find it a good exercise for practising, because it forces me to improve and then I play better in the concert too.
